We use advanced genetic tools to tackle key questions in conservation and ecology, developing real-world solutions for decision-makers.
Using a variety of genetic tools – from those at the single-gene level to cutting-edge genomic markers – our faculty push for answers to important questions in the fields of conservation and ecology. Their research gathers genetic data on individuals and populations of species of conservation concern and use this information to address a wide variety of questions. For example, our faculty work on questions related to molecular evolution, behavioral ecology, population dynamics and gene flow, the ecology of infectious disease, and the detection of invasive species. Faculty use this research to develop real-world solutions that help decision-makers address these pressing conservation and ecological issues.
