Research
My students and I study practical ways to better manage and conserve fishes. We have worked on projects including native-nonnative fish interactions & management, aquatic habitat conservation, captive breeding of rare fishes, & fish sampling methods.
Teaching
Resources Profession (Biopolitics); co-teach Fisheries Management and associated seminars;and have authored books on both subjects. I feel good practical skills - either for working with people or in fisheries management - are important.
