Arid Lands
Research:
I've used image data, Landsat, TIMESAT and MODIS data to characterize owl habitat near the AZ/Mexico border and Pronghorn movement. I am creating a land cover/land use map to use as an input to memeasure sediment loss in the Tijuana River Watershed.
Teaching:
I teach a series of labs focused on applied remote sensing techniques, introducing the students to basic remote sensing principles. Labs focus on high resolution image data, LiDAR, and how to use the data to perform land cover/use classifications.
Research Topics:
Arid Lands
Climate Adaptation and Sustainability
Geospatial Science and Modeling
Remote Sensing
