Don Falk interviewed in AZ Daily Star, "The answer to forest-destroying fires is more fire, researchers say"

Dr. Don Falk gave the keynote address at the Southwest Fire Science Consortium's three-day meeting held in Tucson last week to address forest resiliency in the face of climate change and megafires. More than 100 scientists, land managers and firefighters from government, academic and nongovernmental agencies gathered to brainstorm strategies for making forests resilient as big, hot fires threaten their very existence. One of the conclusions reached at the meeting is that restoring natural fire to treat and burn the landscape can help prevent catastrophic megafires which can cause irreversible damage to forests.
