Population and Community Ecology

Populations and community ecology, are disciplines that are integral to developing effective conservation and recovery strategies for rare species and sustainable management strategies for harvested species.

Understanding factors that govern the distribution and abundance of plant and animal populations (population ecology), how and why these populations change over time and across space (population dynamics), and the complex and fascinating interactions among populations (community ecology) form the very foundation of the science of ecology.
