About the Fisheries Conservation & Management Emphasis
This degree emphasis prepares you for a career in which you’ll focus on the biology of fish and aquatic species and their interrelationships with each other, with humans, and with the physical and biological environment that makes up their habitat.
Your job could include operating and managing a fish hatchery, designing and conducting research, improving habitats, computer modeling, pollution monitoring and testing, enforcing laws, and other activities designed to maintain environmental quality. You may work for federal agencies such as the Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, and Forest Service; or for state game and fish departments or departments of natural resources.
