Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Dr. John Koprowski was recently inteviewed by the Detroit Free Press in their article, "Black squirrels in Michigan popping up in more places." Most black squirrels are actually Eastern Gray squirrels which have a darker coloration. The darker coat helps the squirrels to retain heat. According to Dr. Koprowski, Eastern Gray Squirrels "have become much more common in many urban areas in the U.S" but are most common in the northern U.S.
