AZ Daily Star: Don Falk and Jim Malusa on Finger Rock fire

Don Falk and Jim Malusa were interviewed by the Arizona Daily Star on the impact of the Finger Rock fire. According to Dr. Falk, the fire is perfect becaust "It was started by nature and not some irresponsible camper. It?s burning in mixed fuels in the humidity of the monsoon when fires get started and never get very big, and the Forest Service has done exactly the right thing ? they?ve been watching it.? Jim Malusa, who has mapped vegetation in the Catalinas as a part of the Firescape project, agreed that the fire could be  ?the best one we?ve had in the Catalinas for a long time.?
