SNRE Alum Dr. Ashwin Naidu was recently named a 2019 TED Fellow. He will be attending the main TED Conference in Vancouver in April to give a 4-min TED talk along with the 19 other Fellows this year.
The TED Fellowship is a prestigious honor with a <1% acceptance rate; it puts the Fellows' work on a global platform poised to receive transformational advice and support from some of the most influential people in the world:

Dr. Naidu was selected because of his work as the co-founder of the Fishing Cat Conservancy, an organization that works with local people to protect the fishing cat and their globally-important habitats in India and nearby countries, as well as raise public awareness about the need to conserve this lesser-known cat species. Dr. Naidu is one of three TED Fellows from the University of Arizona, the other Fellows being Erika Hamden (2019), and Burcin Mutlu-Pakdil (2018).
