MS Student Taylor Ulrich spent his summer teaching kids to fish with the US Fish & Wildlife Service
Sept. 10, 2017
SNRE Masters Student Taylor Ulrich spent his summer in Alaska as part of a program sponsored by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Ulrich taught some of the diverse population of kids in Anchorage how to fish. Although nervous at first, Ulrich had an opportunity to introduce many children to the pleasures of fishing, catching their first fish, and having a healthy meal from their catch. In addition, the kids got to gain knowledge of different species of fish and of the natural world that surrounds them.
The story of Ulrich's amazing summer experience was featured on the USFWS homepage, and can be read on their Medium, here.
