Steve Buckley awarded NPS 2016 Regional Director's Award for Natural Resource Research

Steve Buckley has received the 2016 Regional Director's Award for Natural Resource Research from the National Park Service. Buckley is a PhD student studying milkweeds and their use by the monach butterfly. His award honors his work as a botanist for the National Park Service Southwest Exotic Plant Management Team, where he has helped to establish pollinator gardens in National Parks along monarch flyways. 

The award from NPS acknowledges Mr. Buckley's "extraordinary contributions in devleoping and sustaining a comprehensive program of research, collaboration, adaptive management and education on the role that protected areas play in migratory pollinator conservation."
