Cheryl McIntyre's research on invasive plants featured in The Nature Conservancy's Canyonlands Research Center newsletter

Cheryl McIntyre?s dissertation research was recently highlighted in The Nature Conservancy's Canyonlands Research Center newsletter, The Sundial. McIntyre's research, in collaboration with Dr. Steve Archer and Dr. Jayne Belnap (USGS), focuses on what makes landscapes resistant to non-native invasive plant species, like buffelgrass, cheatgrass, and and red brome. McIntyre's goal is to determine how biocrust properties and seed morphology might interact to make a landscape more resistant to non-native species, in the hopes that her research can be used in proactive land management to combat invasive species.
