Dr. Rachel Golden Kroner is an interdisciplinary conservation scientist focused on conducting and translating science for biodiversity conservation. In her role as Director, Nature Positive for Oceans at the World Wildlife Fund-US, Rachel leads a team to develop scientific recommendations to inspire action and transform economic systems. Rachel has published in leading journals including Science and PNAS and has earned media in outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, and Rolling Stone. She has served as a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), held roles at Conservation International and Oceana, and volunteered as a Fellow with IPBES and task force co-chair with the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas. Dr. Golden Kroner holds a BA in Biology from Boston University, an MS in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology from the University of Maryland College Park, and a PhD in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University where she was advised by the late Tom Lovejoy.
