The Altar Valley Conservation Alliance is a watershed based collaborative conservation organization founded in 1995. They work through a strongly collaborative, science-based, and community driven approach to conservation. They engage the UA and other entities on conservation, research, community education and outreach.
As the AVCA's Conservation & Science Director, Julia designs, implements, monitors, and maintains large-scale conservation projects that incorporate the perspectives and knowledge of many different voices. Recent projects include watershed restoration, brush treatments, wildlife habitat enhancements, and collaborative plans. In this presentation, she will describe the Alliance's history as an innovator of collaborative conservation, current projects, partnerships with the UA, and opportunities to get involved.
