Ecology, Management, and Restoration of Rangelands
Research: 
Interactions between grasses and woody plants in relation to soils, climate, fire & grazing. Models are used in conjunction with remote sensing, dendrochronology & stable isotope chemistry to reconstruct vegetation history & predict changes.
Teaching: 
RNR 200: Foundations in Natural Resource History & Policy: introduction to the role of science in natural resource management; RAM 619: Ecology of Savannas, Shrublands, & Woodlands: conservation & management of mixed herbaceous & woody ecosystems.
