ABSTRACT:
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy plays a number of important public policy roles, including setting the priorities for energy, climate, and environment research in the US.  During the past four years, Jacobs was Assistant Director for Climate Assessments and Adaptation at OSTP, and from this position she was able to contribute to the development of the climate science, water, and climate adaptation/resilience initiatives in addition to her role as the director of the National Climate Assessment.  This talk will establish the policy context for the development of a new "sustained" National Climate Assessment process, as well as focusing on the major shifts in climate policy that have occurred during this administration.
